On Monday, just one day after it was announced that LeBron James was named the Associated Press’ Male Athlete of the Decade, James was celebrating his 35th birthday. That honor comes not only with his athletic achievements but entrepreneurial skills and community endeavors such as opening the I Promise School and producing the sequel to “Space Jam.” 

Clippers Outlast Lakers 111-106 in Christmas Day Battle for L.A.

The much-anticipated Lakers versus Clippers Christmas Day game was an old-fashioned showdown between two teams that share the same home court in STAPLES Center. It came down to the wire in front of a star-studded crowd that included comedian Kevin Hart and actor Anthony Anderson, but ultimately a few costly turnovers and questionable fouls erased the Lakers 15-point lead to give the Clippers the edge, 111-106.

Avery Bradley Medical Update

An MRI last night revealed a hairline fracture in a non-weight bearing bone of Avery Bradley’s right leg (on the fibular head). Bradley will be re-evaluated in 1 to 2 weeks, and further medical updates will be provided at that time.

Lakers’ Rajon Rondo (Calf) Ruled Out Against the Raptors

Los Angeles Lakers’ veteran point guard Rajon Rondo was expected to make his season debut in Sunday night’s game versus the visiting Toronto Raptors, but “will instead partake in a workout session with a few bodies to ramp up his endurance” according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.

The effects of the untimely passing of Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle were deeply felt by NBA players around the league, especially James who took to Instagram stating, “I hope I can make you proud down here” before Thursday’s game.
