Milwaukee, Toronto, Indiana, Boston, Philadelphia, Oklahoma City and Denver can all go ahead and cancel those mid-April vacation plans if they were foolish enough to have made them in the first place. For LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, some work awaits. The All-Star break ends Thursday, with about one-third of the season remaining for most clubs — and that means the playoff push now gets very serious. LeBron James to Participate in 2019 All-Star Game Draft

Lakers’ star LeBron James will participate in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game Draft on Thursday, at 4 p.m. PT that will be televised live on TNT during the “NBA All-Star Draft Show.”

James remains arguably the greatest active player in the NBA, so it came as no surprise that he led the Western Conference in becoming the West’s’ All-Star captain for the 2019 NBA All-Star Game.

Lakers’ Young Core Face Adversity in Veterans’ Absence

The Lakers’ young core consisting of Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart have spent the last seven games being forced to play without their centerpiece LeBron James and veteran point guard Rajon Rondo. Over that span, the Lakers have gone 2-5 with their only wins coming over the Kings on Dec. 30 and the Mavericks on the road Monday, Jan. 7.

Lakers’ Two-Way Player Johnathan Williams Experiences a Wild NBA Ride

Lakers’ rookie Johnathan Williams made his NBA debut against the San Antonio Spurs as he introduced himself to the Staples Center crowd with a two-handed dunk on his first play of the game. After Lakers’ starting center JaVale McGee fouled out and Ivica Zubac found himself in foul trouble, Lakers’ coach Luke Walton called Williams’ number. Though Williams’ first NBA game ended in an overtime loss, he racked up eight points on 4-5 shooting, grabbed four rebounds and three blocks in 14 quality minutes. Williams joined Laker great Magic Johnson and Andre Ingram as just the third Lakers rookie of all time to notch eight points and three blocks in their NBA debut.

Lebron James Medical Update

LeBron James, who has been out since suffering a strained left groin on December 25 vs. Golden State, is receiving daily treatment by the team’s training and medical staff and continues to progress with his recovery.

On Thursday, AP announced LeBron James as the Male Athlete of the Year following what the publication described as his “most significant year.” Though James continues to dominate the NBA with his elite basketball skills on the court, his philanthropy and social activism have allowed him to ascend to newer heights.
