Kobe Bryant Elected Into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame

“No amount of words can fully describe what Kobe Bryant meant to the Los Angeles Lakers,” said Lakers Governor Jeanie Buss. “Kobe was not only a proven winner and a champion, he gave everything he had to the game of basketball. His fierce competitiveness, work ethic and drive were unmatched. Those qualities helped Kobe lead us to five titles – and have now brought him to the Hall of Fame, where he will be enshrined with the greatest to have ever played the game. No one deserves it more.”

Lakers Sign Dion Waiters

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Dion Waiters, it was announced today by Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

LeBron James, First Laker Since Kobe Bryant To Win Western Conference Player of the Month

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James entered Tuesday’s contest against the San Antonio Spurs after being announced as the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Month for January. James moved up to third on the NBA’s all-time scoring list during the month where he averaged a near triple-double with  25.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 10.4 assists and 1.4 steals. 

LAKERS vs. CLIPPERS GAME POSTPONED

The National Basketball Association game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Clippers scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28 at Staples Center has been postponed. The decision was made out of respect for the Lakers organization, which is deeply grieving the tragic loss of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven other people in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

Andrew was the only child born of this union. Andrew accepted Christ at an early age and loved the Lord and was a God-fearing young man. His favorite scripture was Matthew 6:11-16.

Lakers Welcome The Pistons To A Block Party in 106-99 Win

The most staggering statistic of the Lakers’ Sunday night victory over the Pistons was that 40.8 percent of the Pistons’ missed shots came from blocks by the Lakers. 

“We were just protecting the paint,” said Lakers’ forward Anthony Davis, who led the way with 24 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocks. “Last game , we gave up 60-something points in the paint. It’s something we don’t like doing, and we tried to make an emphasis tonight on protecting the paint.” 

LeBron James Crowned AP Male Athlete of the Decade

On Monday, just one day after it was announced that LeBron James was named the Associated Press’ Male Athlete of the Decade, James was celebrating his 35th birthday. That honor comes not only with his athletic achievements but entrepreneurial skills and community endeavors such as opening the I Promise School and producing the sequel to “Space Jam.”
