California State University junior outfielder Robert Ballard fell in love with baseball at an early age. That love led him to compete at the collegiate level. He mentions how his father played a major role in helping him become a baseball player.
Tara Moore is a passionate soccer player and is a leader at LACES Middle School. With a 4.0 GPA, she was valedictorian of her class and spoke at her eighth-grade graduation this month. Moore competes in four different soccer teams, including LACES Beyond the Bell Soccer team and on her AYSO United LA Club Team in South Los Angeles. The players on her club team have been playing together since Moore was 10 years old. West Point sophomore wide receiver Jordan Blackman uses his intellect to be a competitive force on the field. His skills made him a standout during his high school years with the St. Genevieve Valiants. As a senior, his contributions on offense and defense aided the Valiants to a 11-2 overall record. As a corner, he made 50 solo tackles, 15 pass deflections, and six interceptions. Mississippi State senior center Teaira McCowan has had a historic career, she has broken records at her university and became a stand-out player in the SEC conference and in college basketball. Ohio State Buckeyes sophomore quarterback Dwayne Haskins had the talent, skill and leadership qualities to maintain the winning culture of the Ohio State Buckeyes. After playing eight games with no starts during his freshmen year, Haskins came into the 2018 season as a starter. With Haskins as the main signal caller, the Buckeyes had a prosperous season with a 13-1 overall record. He ascended through the ranks of college football by becoming one of the top ten college quarterbacks in the country. His quarterback rating at 86.3 placed him at fourth.
