The BMM Gospel Stage will be located at the intersection of Crenshaw and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevards and believers and nonbelievers alike are invited to worship on the ‘Shaw, said Danny J. Bakewell, Sr., TOS creator and founder.
“If you enjoy lifting up the name of Jesus, then you need to stop by the Brenda Marsh-Mitchell Gospel Stage where you will definitely get your praise on! Our lineup features anointed and talented singers, musicians, psalmists, liturgical dancers, and more,” he said.
“I encourage you to bring your entire family to hear local and national artists perform traditional and contemporary gospel selections as well as Christian rap and hip hop. We have performers of all ages and all styles to illustrate that you can’t put God in a box and worshipping Him takes on a wide range of forms!”

Recording artist Patrick Bolton will host the BMM Gospel Stage accompanied by DJ Count. Pastor Greg Tyler will deliver the opening invocation and the Rev. Dr. John-Paul Foster, pastor of Faithful Central Bible Church, will offer the afternoon prayer.
The spirit-filled lineup includes William Demps, Faithful Central Young Adult Choir, Joslynn James, Divine Praise Dancers, Gospel Memorial Church of God in Christ Choir of Long Beach, Darryl Wakefield, and St. Stephens Baptist Church. Also on program are violinist Lady Zhe, the Sons Of Jericho, De’ante Duckett & The Justified Crew and the Williams Singers.
Explaining his dedication to presenting a quality program, Bakewell said, “The Taste of Soul Gospel Stage will always have a special place in my heart. The Brenda Marsh-Mitchell Gospel Stage is named in honor of the first Taste of Soul and Mothers in Action president and my dear friend and longtime assistant, Brenda Marsh-Mitchell.
“To watch this stage grow along with Taste of Soul, from a small stage in front of the Sentinel office to a premier stage drawing thousands of God-fearing, spiritually-grounded fans of gospel music right here on Crenshaw Blvd., is certainly a blessing.”
