The Los Angeles Urban League (LAUL) will partner with NBC4/KNBC and Telemundo 52/KVEA to present the second annual State of Black Los Angeles on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Town and Gown Banquet Hall on the campus of the University of Southern California (USC). The program will also be livestreamed on KNBC and Telemundo.
The panel series will cover three main areas: housing and homelessness, health access and equity, and economic empowerment – building wealth. A wide range of experts will provide factual information and critical insight on each topic.

Last year’s inaugural State of Black L.A. has put a spotlight on the disparities that exist in L.A.’s Black and Latino communities in education as well as the racial gaps in equality and opportunity for cultural solidarity between neighboring cultures,” said Cynthia Mitchell-Heard, LAUL president & CEO.
“We believe that change and progress can only be made by highlighting conversations between political and civic leaders, and the public. So, we are motivated this year to host panels on economic empowerment, health access and equity as well as the very pressing issue of housing in Los Angeles. Our collaboration with NBC4, Telemundo 52 is invaluable as it gives us the opportunity to reach a large sector of our community and amplify these crucial conversations,” she added.
