Bright fuchsia banners graced with an image of the late Brenda Marsh-Mitchell and a blue mid-October sky provided a natural cathedral for the Taste of Soul’s Gospel Stage, named for the festival’s co-founder, president, and primary organizer for the first eight years of its existence.
Foodbank of Southern California, a Black-led food bank based in Long Beach, provides much-needed groceries to L.A. County’s most food-insecure communities, especially communities of color. Under new CEO/President Brian Weaver, the food bank has seen expansion and innovation across a number of domains.

Tiffany Haddish’s She Ready Comedy Lounge and Beer Garden provided laughter and great times during the 18th Annual Taste of Soul. This is the first time the Taste of Soul hosted a Comedy Lounge since 2006 with J. Anthony Brown.
The 18th annual Taste of Soul took over Crenshaw Boulevard this past Saturday, October 21st. Hundreds of thousands of people walked, danced, ate, and mingled their way from Stocker Street to Obama Boulevard.
