Mother’s In Action (MIA) have been a significant pillar in the nourishment of the South Los Angeles. They continue to grow in their role of being a key resource for families in need. MIA has done more for the Los Angeles neighborhood than anyone can count. They provide refuge for the homeless, medical services for those in need, and continue to provide hope to individuals in underprivileged places.

Councilwoman Heather Hutt Hosts Turkey Giveaway for the Holidays 

The Office of Councilwoman Heather Hutt Hosted a Turkey Giveaway for local residents of the 10th District at the Michelle and Barack Obama Sports Complex on December 14. Councilwoman Hutt was accompanied by newly appointed Mayor Karen Bass on her third day in office. 

Taste of Soul Is Here!

Excitement is building throughout L.A. as people anticipate the 17th Annual Taste of Soul Family Festival, set for Saturday, October 15, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Crenshaw Blvd., between Stocker St. and Obama Blvd.

Mothers In Action and Black Health Matters Host Mobile Screening Event

On Saturday, April 2, Mothers in Action partnered with Black Health Matters to provide mobile digital mammograms to the Los Angeles community. Screenings were distributed from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the back lot of the Los Angeles Sentinel office, located at 3800 Crenshaw Blvd., in Los Angeles.
