76ers play aggressor in 119-113 win over Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers’ intensity fell to match the aggressive play of the Philadelphia 76ers on New Year’s Day. Jimmy Butler and Avery Bradley shoved each other after fighting for a rebound and were immediately hit with double technical fouls that led to both players being ejected with 7:01 remaining in the fourth quarter. By that time, the 76ers (24-14) were already clinging onto a 15-point advantage and then Joel Embiid returned to the floor to hand the Clippers (21-16) a 119-113 loss Tuesday night at Staples Center. Legislation that would streamline the state environmental review process for the proposed Los Angeles Clippers arena in Inglewood is on its way to Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk after winning unanimous approval from the state Senate and passing in the Assembly, 68-4.

Late Friday evening, Assembly Bill 987, authored by Assemblywoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove and Senator Steven Bradford, was approved by both houses of the Legislature with overwhelming support and awaits the Governor’s final approval to be signed into law. 

Blake Griffin and the L.A. Clippers Foundation Team with Vision To Learn

Blake Griffin and the L.A. Clippers Foundation have partnered with non-profit Vision To Learn and the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to provide free eye exams and glasses to every LAUSD student in need throughout the district. Out of over 600,000 LAUSD students, an estimated 15 to 20 percent need glasses. Over the next two years, every student K-12th grade in LAUSD who needs an eye exam and glasses will get them, free of charge, thanks to the generous support of the L.A. Clippers Foundation, Blake Griffin, and LAUSD.

Houston’s Ariza and Green Suspended Two Games

Houston Rockets forward Trevor Ariza and guard Gerald Green have each been suspended two games without pay for entering the Los Angeles Clippers’ locker room to confront a player from the opposing team, it was announced Wednesday by Kiki VanDeWeghe, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.
