Ford Fund Teams Up with the California African American Museum to Kick off Men of Courage Greater Los Angeles Barbershop Challenge

Ford Motor Company Fund, the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company, is joining forces with the California African American Museum (CAAM) to offer community focused barbershops in the Greater Los Angeles area the opportunity to compete for a $10,000 grant.

As an Aerospace Engineering graduate, you typically end up in the aerospace industry like Lockheed Martin or Boeing, but I was able to land a dream job in both of my passions at General Motors starting out as the lead aerodynamicist for crossovers.”

For twenty-seven years the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC) Annual Economic Awards Dinner has been the premiere event of the African American business community.  The event recognizes individuals, small businesses and corporations who have contributed to the economic growth and development of the African American small business community.

Tiffany Haddish and Legendary Black Comedians Receive Awards at City Hall

African American comedians have been pushing the culture forward for many years. Last week, at Los Angeles City Hall, a select group of Black comedians was celebrated and received awards for their success and contributions in the entertainment industry. The city leaders who celebrated the comedians were Los Angeles City Council President Emeritus Herb J. Wesson and Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson. The celebration concluded with a tour of the Bridge Exhibit in the building.
