Earlier this month, the NFL Green culminated their environmental projects in the Los Angeles area in honor of Super Bowl LVI at the Passing of the Golden Shovel ceremony in Darby Park in Inglewood. Los Angeles will now pass the Golden Shovel to Phoenix, Ariz., the host city for Super Bowl LVII. The Super Bowl LVI host committee, the City of Inglewood, the NFL, the L.A. Rams, and Verizon partnered to host the ceremony along with a beautification project at Darby Park. Dr. William Rolfe Weathers, 83 years of age, died on December 9, 2021, in Los Angeles. William was born at Homer G. Phillips Hospital on October 5, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, the third of four siblings born to Dr. Henri Weathers II and Alice Mae Gentry Weathers.

Kappa League is the national mentoring program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. The program is designed to support the educational, occupational, and social guidance of male students in grades 6th-12th. It was designed to help young men grow, receive, and develop their leadership talents in every phase of human endeavor.
