The Sudduth Holiday Foundation in conjunction with the Pasadena Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi celebrated its 3rd annual White Linen Casino Night Out at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena, California on Saturday, Aug. 31.

Over 150 VIPs and invited guests gathered for a fun and enjoyable evening of dancing, networking, casino games, cigars and a special tasting on one of the best Tennessee based whiskies produced – Uncle Nearest.

The Sudduth Holiday Foundation founded in 2001 is dedicated to providing boys and young men of color based in the San Gabriel Valley with educational, mentorships, scholarship and youth development opportunities. The foundation honored Pasadena Unified School District Board Member Patrice Marshall McKenzie with the John J. Kennedy Community Award. The award was to recognize Marshall Kenzie’s outstanding contributions to improving the local community and the Pasadena Unified School District.

“I’m humbled to receive the John J. Kennedy Community Service Award. It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by my peers. Public service is a core value that was instilled in me at an early age, so it is the honor of my life to give back to the community that has made me who I am,” stated Patrice Marshall McKenzie.

The Pasadena Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi gave a special recognition – Brother of the Year Award – to Danny J. Bakewell, Jr. The award is given to a member who exemplifies the values and mission of the fraternity and continues to make meaningful contributions unselfishly on behalf of the membership and the communities it serves.

“Over the years, we have had some of the most iconic brothers in the San Gabriel Valley and Pasadena communities receive this award and we are excited to add honorable man of achievement to the list of honorees – Brother Danny J. Bakewell, Jr,” said Jayson A. Johnson, polemarch (president) of the Pasadena Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
