The Los Angeles Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. will host its 85th Annual Black and White Ball on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m., at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel Los Angeles.

According to a spokesperson, “This epic event promises an evening filled with elegance, recognition, and celebration.

“This year’s esteemed honorees include Mr. James Breedlove, president of Bridge Builders Foundation Los Angeles, who’s receiving the Community Service Award; Judge Mablean Ephriam, who’s receiving the first Honorary Imagine Maker Award; and Kappa Alpha Psi’s very own brother, Dr. Shannon Faulk, receiving the Ted Alexander Lifetime Achievement Award,” the spokesperson added.

Also, the gala will also pay special tribute to the Western Regional Leaders of the Divine 9. The night will culminate in the crowning of the 2024 Kappa Kourt Queen.

This event is traditionally known as the kickoff of the Black Holiday Season.  Dress code is strictly enforced with women requested to wear black and/or white floor or tea-length formal dresses.

The attire for men is black tuxedos or tails paired with black and/or white accessories and bow ties or straight ties should be black and/or white. Also, white dinner jackets are not permitted.
