Tributes poured in as the Southern California faith community learned of the passing of legendary musician director Barbara A. Allen, who succumbed to illness on Nov. 6. Described by her husband, the Rev. Jordan Allen, as the “undisputed Queen of gospel music,” Barbara was currently the minister of music at New Philadelphia AME Church. However, thousands of people were positively affected by her decades-long service in the same capacity at Faithful Central Bible Church. The 4th annual Platform Workshop for Christian Artists will take place on Saturday, August 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Faithful Central Bible Church, 333 W. Florence Ave., in Inglewood.
