Again, we rightfully set aside time and space to celebrate the sacred initiative and narrative we name and know as Black History. It was first set aside as Black History Week by Dr. Carter G. Woodson (May the good he did and the legacy he left last forever).
Tyler Perry’s drama-comedy series, “Sistas,” explores a feminine reality through the lens of four Black women living in Atlanta. Mignon shared her acting presence had a touch of comedic timing, which made her fit the character Danni seamlessly.
As this sacred narrative we know as Black History unfolds and opens our celebrations of Black History Month, it is ever more important that we know our history and honor it in rightful and righteous ways by the way we live, struggle, and weave and work our way forward in the world.

Percy “Master P” Miller is arguably one of the most accomplished African American artists and entrepreneurs of his generation who has achieved success across multiple industries. JPMorgan Chase hosted Miller for a fireside chat at its annual Advancing Black Pathways Black History Month event for Los Angeles last week.
It is a fundamental tenet of Kawaida philosophy that practice proves and makes possible everything, that is to say, practice brings it into being, makes it real, relevant and worthy of the name and quality it claims, whether it is love or life, parenting or peace, teaching or learning, art or ethics, science, religion or righteous resistance. And so, in this month of March which pays rightful and focused attention and homage to women and calls for recommitment to secure their rights, respect their dignity and address adequately their rightful needs and aspirations, the question is always of how this is translated in practice, how is it brought into being and made real and worthy of its name and claims?
