LOS ANGELES (AP) — The hottest party in town Saturday night was on DJ D-Nice’s Instagram, where over 100,000 accounts tuned in during his epic 10-hour set including the likes of Michelle Obama, Oprah, Rihanna and Will Smith. Oprah tweeted that it was the “best party of 1 and 100K I’ve ever been to.” Smith expressed a similar sentiment. As the world practices social distancing to slow the spread of the coronavirus, many have been looking for ways to hang out virutally and D-Nice’s joyous dance party proved to be just the ticket. Los Angeles Master Chorale Cancels Presentations, Public Gatherings and Education Programs Due to COVID-19

Amidst rising concerns regarding the COVID-19 global outbreak, Governor Newsom’s strong recommendation that all gatherings of 250 or more people across the entire state be canceled, and the County of Los Angeles’s order that The Music Center close its theatres, The Los Angeles Master Chorale and the other resident companies of The Music Center (Center Theatre Group, LA Opera, and LA Phil), along with TMC Arts / Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center, will close their theatres (Ahmanson Theatre, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Mark Taper Forum, and Walt Disney Concert Hall) effective today, March 12, 2020, and cancel all presentations, public gatherings, and education programs through at least March 31, 2020.

Debuting February 8, 2020, at Walt Disney Hall, the piece played by violinist and former classmate Charles Yang titled For A Younger Self is an ode to Bowers’s younger self and their careers at Juilliard.
