Part of finding a significant other is peering through the mirror that one holds up in front of themselves. Judge Faith Jenkins provides the tools to see oneself with clarity, in order to have a healthy sense of attraction to someone else. In her new book, “SIS, DON’T SETTLE: How to Stay Smart in Matters of the Heart,” Jenkins examines the price of self-value and how it affects ones dating experience.

Jenkins is a host of the Daytime Emmy-nominated TV show “Divorce Court,” she has mediated different levels of conflict within relationships on a case-by-case basis.  According to the press release, Divorce Court reaches 95 percent of American households, with a daily national average viewership of three million viewers per episode.

Jenkins oversaw many files where love was misplaced into pockets of rage and hurtful words. When she put down her gavel for the day, Jenkins had to seek balance within herself, as a self-empowered Black woman in the present dating scene. While balancing her personal endeavors, Jenkins did not build her legacy. She has appeared on ESPN SportsCenter, Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), DishNation, and TV One.

Additionally, Judge Jenkins did the work within herself in order to see a clear path that led her to her husband. She removed advice that did not serve her, silenced the peer pressure, and aligned herself with the internal clock that brought her to the next chapter.

After allowing herself to elevate within her space, Jenkins is happily married and approaching an additional hosting position on the upcoming Oxygen series “Killer Relationship.” She has found ways to unlock a new level of abundance within herself. The chapters in her new book outline the path she took in 256 pages, moving intentionally towards her elevation in life.

In many ways, time does not work in favor of women. After reaching a certain age, opinions of marriage, children, and the question of “when is it going to happen?” becomes a popular topic to discuss.

Even through reaching national prominence, Jenkins still felt the pressure of “when.” As explained in her book, Jenkins tuned into a different discussion and started to focus on personal value.  Thats when she decided, “I. Will. Not. Settle.”

“This is a book that is a practical guide and a playbook, on how to be smart and make great decisions, and win in love in relationships,” Jenkins explained. She elaborated on the reason why this book came into being.

Jenkins continued, “This is my first book– I really pulled from a number of sources. One, the advice that I give every day to couples on divorce court and from my dating experience. I dated for 15 years before I married my husband a year and eight months ago.”

Over the span of 15 years, Jenkins has monitored cases that had extreme acts of passion and vulgar adolescent behavior transpire between adults. This included vandalism of cars, scandal, and public humiliation through social media.

On November 9, “SIS, DON’T SETTLE: How to Stay Smart in Matters of the Heart,” became available to provide essential protection, for anyone to forge into their own armor against negative experiences that may come to past while looking for something real. Jenkins explained that this map was designed with women in mind, however the lessons found within the chapters are unisex.

Jenkins confirmed this book holds 15 years of personal experience in dating, by stating, “I pull from all of those experiences and resources and essentially wrote a book that I would have wanted to have when I was single in navigating love in relationships. I did not have a huge example of how to do love.” She continued, “I’ve learned a lot of things through trial and error.”

Within this hard cover read, Jenkins talked about the empowerment of women and its connection to their love life. Tina Lifford, author of “The Little Book of Big Lies,” was captured stating, “I was relieved that Sis, Don’t Settle is not about ‘catching’ a man. This easy, wise, and often funny read is about recognizing your innate worth. Read this book. Love yourself. Then, expect more love to enter your life.”

Men in similar career paths to Ms. Jenkins have spoken highly about this book as well.  legendary actor turned TV host Steve Harvey released a statement saying, “Listen to Faith. This book is great!” Harvey has been vetted in the matters of the heart after his New York Bestselling book, “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man,” which later inspired a feature film.

Jenkins waited for physical evidence to manifest in her own life, she is now prospering in Los Angeles as a happy newlywed, never losing sight of the self-empowered Black woman that she always been. Jenkins explained that part of the book’s design is to help women win.

She stated, “I knew it was time to share the lessons and the experience that I learned and how I feel like I manifested my husband.” She continued, “I don’t want to keep this to myself. Because I know if I share these principles, other women will win, and they will succeed and they will get the relationships they really deserve and desire.”
