Kaiser Permanente has approved a $20,000 grant for The Positive Results Corporation to conduct youth mentoring, leadership and peer advocates workshops for youth in South Los Angeles and the Watts community.
“We are grateful for this generous grant from Kaiser Permanente,” said PRC Executive Director
Kandee Lewis. “These resources will allow The Positive Results Corporation to continue conducting small group discussions, mentoring, art therapy, and introduce mindful meditation to the area youth.”
Kaiser Permanente’s community benefit grants are awarded every year to local organizations working on specific programs and projects that align with Kaiser Permanente’s missions and goals.
“Part of our mission at Kaiser Permanente is to improve the health of the communities we serve,” said pediatrician and area medical director at Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center Dr. Barbara Carnes. “We are grateful to have strong partners, like the Positive Results Corporation, who are doing important work to reduce violence, empower youth and promote healthy relationships.”
The Positive Results Corporation provides “Violence Free ‘Real Talk’ Healthy Relationship” workshops that cover topics such as: inter-personal and teen dating violence, healthy relationship, self-esteem, and accountability.
Additionally, the workshops are designed to engage men and boys as part of the solution to prevent and end sexual assault and violence, increase awareness, while having meaningful conversations about accountability and consent.
PRC also conducts professional development workshops for law enforcement, providers, educators, parents and community partners on awareness, prevention, trauma and healing.
