Tina Knowles better known as the mother of Beyonce Knowels, now has an affordable clothing line for the everyday woman. On Saturday, Tina Knowles premiered her clothing line “Miss Tina” at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza’s Wal-Mart store.

Knowles who is also co-owner of “House of Dereon,” has been a designing clothes since before Destinys’ Child ever officially came out. “I have been designing since I was very small. I was in a 1970’s girl group in Galveston, Texas and I designed all of our costumes.”

Knowles moved the clothing line into Wal-Mart, after previously partnering with the Home Shopping Network. “I always dreamed of having my own affordable clothing line. I wanted the clothing line to be accessible to all women at an affordable price,” stated Mrs. Knowles
Also according to Mrs. Knowles, The clothing line for the everyday women of all colors and ethnicities. “The line begins at size 0 and goes up to size 20.I wanted to make a line that was affordable, yet comfortable to all women. I know that not every woman is a size 6 to 12, so I wanted to create a line that was reflective of that. To me, every woman, no matter the size is beautiful. You could be a size 20 and still be as beautiful as a size 5.I am very passionate about that.”

Mrs. Knowles also states that she loves to model her own design “I’m the best model for this,” Knowles says, “I’m busty, I’m full under the arms and around the back. I couldn’t wear jackets or a white button-down shirt before, and I don’t want bare arms. All I was looking for was a jacket that actually closed.”

“This clothing line is designed to accentuate the curves and shape of all women. These clothes are also great work clothes’ stated Mrs., Knowles.
During the opening Mrs. Knowles brought up all of her staff, which were wearing her designs, including her former assistant, Michelle who is now a television producer for various shows.
According to Wal-Mart officials some of the items have already sold out in the stores. “Women will have to go to our website and Miss Tina’s website to reserve some of the dresses. The price ranges from $15 to $30, and can be purchased at select Wal-Mart stores,” stated a Wal-Mart associate.

Mrs. Knowles stated that in the future that she would like to expand the line into a children’s clothing line as well as add accessories to the line. “If everything continues to go well for this clothing line, I do plan on expanding it to earrings as well as maybe even having a children’s line, like we have in the “House of Dereon” line.”
