Washington Beats Hollywood in Season Opener
The Washington Prep Generals football team is starting a new season and a new era with a victory. The Generals defeated the Hollywood Sheiks 32-7.
The Washington Prep Generals football team is starting a new season and a new era with a victory. The Generals defeated the Hollywood Sheiks 32-7.
Washington Prep senior quarterback Sesame Mixson led the Generals to an appearance in the CIF City Section Division III Championship game. The Generals ended the season with a 5-9 overall record and a 1-4 Coliseum League record.
“My very first game, I was a little bit nervous. I never played the actual sport,” said Los Angeles high school senior quarterback Tommy Legardye. “Once I got my first hit, I was like “I’m ready” in the game what did to me, I should do it back.”
South L.A. schools reached the main stage as the CIF City Section Championship commenced last weekend.
Anderson took some time off from the girls’ basketball team in order to get her grades up.
High schools throughout Southern California participated in the tournament, including Carson, View Park, Banning, Dorsey and Washington Prep.
Pro basketball player Reshanda Gray has shown off her expertise on the national and global stage.
