Malik Books, an independent, black-owned bookstore, is set to host Devyn Bakewell, the granddaughter of civil rights activist and entrepreneur Danny Bakewell Sr., book signing inside the Westfield Culver City (6000 Sepulveda Blvd., Suite 2470., Culver City 90230) on Sunday, December 18, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Devyn will be signing copies of her latest novel, “Greater Life.”

DJ Stephen’ tWitch’ Boss, the former DJ, choreographer, and co-executive producer with The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Tuesday. He was 40 years old. Boss was husband to fellow dancer Allison Holker and father of three. According to his social media post, Boss celebrated his ninth wedding anniversary with Holker a few days ago.

The Children Youth and Family Collaborative Host 23rd Annual Holiday Festival for Youth in Foster and Kinship Care

The Children Youth and Family Collaborative (CYFC) will host its Annual Holiday Festival on Saturday, December 17, at noon, at Holman United Methodist Church. The annual holiday festival celebrates over 2,000 youth in foster and kinship care. This year’s event is a safe “drive-through party” where youth and families will pick up their gifts by car.
