Police Tie Car Used in Young Dolph’s Killing to 2nd Shooting

Police in Tennessee have tied a car used in the killing of rapper Young Dolph to a shooting that left a woman dead and wounded another person days before the ambush on the hip-hop artist, authorities said Monday. Two men exited a white Mercedes-Benz and fired shots into a Memphis bakery where Young Dolph was buying cookies Wednesday and killed him, Memphis police said. Police have released photos taken from surveillance video that captured the shooting, but no suspect information has been released and no arrests have been made. Lawyers for a Riverside County woman who filed a sexual battery lawsuit against Bill Cosby will get a hearing next month on their request to limit the extent the comedian’s attorneys can examine the plaintiff’s medical background. Santa Monica Superior Court Judge Craig Karlan is scheduled to hold a hearing Dec. 14 regarding a subpoena Cosby’s attorneys served on a physician who treated plaintiff Judy Huth, seeking all information related to her medical background. Civil Rights Groups Sue Feds Over Detention of Riverside County Man

Two civil rights groups today sued U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on behalf of a Riverside County man who allegedly was unlawfully transferred to an ICE immigration lockup for deportation proceedings even though he is a citizen. Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Asian Law Caucus and the ACLU Foundation of Northern California filed the federal lawsuit in Los Angeles on behalf of Brian Bukle, 62, of Corona. The lawsuit alleges that state corrections officials handed Bukle over to ICE on June 17, 2020, at a time when immigration detention centers were in the midst of a coronavirus outbreak. LA County Seeks Landlords to Participate in Housing Voucher Program

Property owners who partner with Los Angeles County to accept Emergency Housing Vouchers for their rental units are eligible for up to $5,000 for new contract inspection repairs and $2,500 as a signing bonus for each unit leased to a voucher participant, the L.A. LA Police Commission to Consider Department’s Proposed 12% Budget Increase

The Los Angeles Police Commission tomorrow will consider a proposed budget increase of $213 million, or 12.11%, in the 2022-23 fiscal year, but the City Council and mayor have final approval. The increase would take the department’s operating budget from $1.761 billion to $1.974 billion.
