Democrats pondering 2020 presidential bids in the aftermath of the midterm elections are pivoting from campaigning for other candidates across the country to refocusing on their own efforts, including moves in early-voting states like South Carolina.

California is in a massive housing crisis. Though housing prices vary across the state, housing affordability is a clear problem when resident income is compared to housing costs. In many cities, renters are paying over half of their income in housing costs, leaving very little to go towards anything else. Some 61 percent of renter households in California are lower-income, according to the California Department of housing and Community Development.

Washington- Federal authorities have charged 56-year-old Cesar Altieri Sayoc with five crimes including mailing explosives and threatening former U.S. presidents. Sayoc is a registered Republican and ardent Trump supporter who pushed far-right conspiracy theories online. Some of Sayoc’s social media posts singled out the targets of the bombs. Trump has called for unity but also has blamed the press for the divisive political climate.

ABC News reports a suspicious package was sent to California Congresswoman Maxine Waters. The suspected bomb targeting Waters was intercepted at a mail facility in Maryland by Capitol Hill police. Developing Story…..

Cleary, Latinos are already asserting their new found political strength. This threatens many African Americans, who rather than work to strengthen relations with Latinos, for mutual benefit, seem determined to cling to their own highly limited past political and economic gains, real and imagined.
