Biddy Mason and Dolores Huerta were trailblazers of their times. They are part of the Women’s March Foundation’s Feminist Street Initiative to rename streets across the nation after women who paved the way for equality and recognition throughout history.

Sparks Star Nneka Ogwumike Featured in Pay Equity Panel

The Los Angeles Sparks recently hosted a conversation about pay equity. All-Star forward and WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumike, was featured in the panel along with National Farmworkers Association co-founder Dolores Huerta, LA84 Foundation President and CEO Renata Simril, and former California State Assemblymember Betsy Butler.

Holman UMC Hosts Presidential Debate Viewing and Panel Discussion

In light of the myriad of issues affecting African Americans across the nation, Holman United Methodist Church will host a public viewing of the U.S. presidential debate on Sept. 26, followed by a panel discussion featuring L.A. community leaders. The event, “What’s at Stake for our Communities,” begins at 5:30 p.m., in the church’s edifice located at 3320 West Adams Blvd., in Los Angeles, said Holman Pastor Kelvin Sauls.
