Faulk Lends Support to Vaccinate ALL 58 Campaign

On Saturday, September 24, Councilwoman Dionne Faulk of Inglewood District 4, in partnership with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Vaccinate ALL 58 campaign and KJLH-FM 102.3, presented the Fall Family Health Fest.   The event took place at the center of Inglewood, across from Inglewood High School at Grevillea Park. Healthcare Access as Restorative Justice

This summer, after 98 years, the LA County Board of Supervisors voted to return Bruce’s Beach to the descendants of its rightful owners Charles and Willa Bruce. In the early 20th century, Bruce’s Beach Lodge was the only space in Manhattan Beach that allowed Black vacationers. It was a safe haven where they could dine and enjoy the beach, at a time when Black people were prohibited from many other shared public spaces.

Dr. William R. Weathers Passes Away

Dr. William Rolfe Weathers, 83 years of age, died on December 9, 2021, in Los Angeles. William was born at Homer G. Phillips Hospital on October 5, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri,  the third of four siblings born to Dr. Henri Weathers II and Alice Mae Gentry Weathers.
