Los Angeles Criminal Justice Reform Legislation Spearheaded by Black Lives Matter Co-Founder Patrisse Cullors Cleared for March 2020 Ballot

Patrisse Cullors, Campaign Chair Reform L.A. Jails ballot measure led by Black women in Los Angeles will get full vote of electorate Los Angeles, CA – On Tuesday, the five members of the L.A. County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to send the Reform L.A. Jails initiative to California’s Mar. 3, 2020 presidential primary ballot.  Reform L.A. Jails is an initiative that will mandate a study be done on alternatives to jail in an effort to reduce the jail population and give the Civilian Oversight Commission subpoena power. Man Charged with Burglarizing Celebrity Homes

According to prosecutors, the defendant allegedly burglarized four residences – a home owned by singer Tota Matthieu on Aug. 24; professional baseball player Yasiel Puig’s residence on Sept. 18; a home owned by singer Rihanna on Sept. 25; and a residence owned by professional football player Robert Woods on Sept. 27.

Jury Finds Man Guilty of West Covina Killings

The jury deliberated for about three hours before finding Caminero Wang guilty of two counts of first-degree murder in case KA112295. The jury also found true a special circumstance allegation of multiple murders and special allegations of using a handgun which caused great bodily injury and death. 

Man Sentenced for Killing UCLA Student

A Fresno man was sentenced today to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2015 murder of a 21-year-old UCLA student whose body was found after a fire at her Westwood apartment, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
