
This Easter Sunday, April 20, 17-time Grammy-winning vocalist and Gospel music icon CeCe Winans is set to minister on “American Idol” during their “Songs of Faith” Easter Special.
Sunday night’s special episode will be a three-hour, all-out night of worship, featuring, Winans and several other talented and anointed artists such as Brandon Lake, “American Idol” alum Roman Collins, artist in-residence Jelly Roll and gospel quartet The Brown Four.
All three judges; Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan, will perform during this special episode.
Finally, all top 20 finalists will give their best renditions of faith-inspired, worship and gospel songs, in front of a live audience, vying for your votes.
Voting will open immediately following the episode, determining which contestants will advance closer to the “Idol” crown.
Winans is considered the best-selling and most-awarded gospel artist of all time. According to Wikipedia, she’s received 17 Grammy Awards, the most for any female gospel singer; 31 GMA Dove Awards, 19 Stellar Awards, 7 NAACP Image Awards, 4 Billboard Music Awards, along with many other awards and honors. Also, Winans has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Music City Walk of Fame.
An extremely popular singer, Winans’ record sales total 19 million as certified by RIAA. Notably, Billboard magazine lists all of her solo albums as top Gospel, Christian, and R&B music sellers, and six albums as a duo with her older brother Bebe.
