Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice franchise owner Lajay Godbolt
Its summertime and as temperatures continue to rise, what better way to cool off than trying a cool, refreshing treat.
Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice has been battling heatwaves across the east coast since 1957 and now, for the first time ever, the sweet treats will make an appearance in Southern California at the 10th annual Taste of Soul festival.
“I am excited about introducing Italian Ice to Los Angeles, especially the Leimert Park area. I am also excited to be a part of a community event that allows people to share a lot of joy with each other,” said Little Jimmy’s owner Lajay Godbolt. Godbolt became one of many Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice franchise owners this year when he served at his first event during the Fourth of July in Moreno Valley.
“My brother inspired me to get into the business. I went online and saw a couple of company testimonies and people serving at fairs and air shows bringing excitement to the kids,” said Godbolt.”
The Italian Ice recipe is a non-dairy and non-dairy cream product with no added sugar and natural flavoring making it healthy for both adults and children.
Taste of Soul goers will have a chance to choose from six flavors, Blueberry, Cherry, Lemon, Mango, Watermelon and
Pina colada in a cup or a baseball helmet shaped souvenir cup.
“When the parents find out it is a non-dairy product and doesn’t have any dye in there, they really take to it,” said Godbolt.
For Godbolt, preparation for the festival is quite simple. The ice is already frozen and will remain frozen during the event.
