Bakewell Media and Taste of Soul are pleased to announce the lineup for the Bakewell Media “Sounds for the Soul” Music Stage at the upcoming 18th Annual Taste of Soul festival on Saturday, October 21. The stage is sponsored by Chevrolet, and beloved actress-comedian Tiffany Haddish will serve as the celebrity chair.
Taste of Soul’s signature blend of fun-filled festivities will kick off at 10:00a.m. and continue throughout the day until 7:00p.m.
Among them, at the Chevrolet Bakewell Media “Sounds for the Soul” Music Stage, a spectacular array of performances will include legendary R&B hitmasters like The Whispers, a group long celebrated for their beautiful ballads, their #1 R&B/Dance singles “Rock Steady” and “And the Beat Goes On,” as well as myriad other timeless songs; The Delfonics Experience, known for classics like “La-La Means I Love You,” “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind this Time),” and “Ready or Not Here I Come (Can’t Hide From Love)” and more; and Switch, who with frontman Bobby DeBarge captured hearts in the late 1970s with “I Call Your Name” and “There’ll Never Be.”
Additional highlights on the Bakewell Media “Sounds for the Soul” Music Stage will be performances by acts as diverse as Soul Play, party band B.I.G. (Brothers Igniting a Groove), who will be serving up R&B, smooth jazz and old school funk, and Perri Jones, up and coming pop/R&B artist, who is the daughter of singer Oran “Juice” Jones.
