Taste of Soul Highlights Sadé Miller, Multi-faceted Entrepreneur

For the last 17 years, the Taste of Soul accelerated the reach of Black entrepreneurs, working as a vital resource in the collective community. This year, that energy and support was matched by multifaceted businesswoman, Sadé Miller. Reflecting on her presence at 2023 Taste of Soul, Miller observed the bridge between her businesses and its pipeline in supporting the Black community.

Johnny Gill Accepts ‘Culture Icon’ Award At KJLH Stage

History was made amid the 18th Annual Taste of Soul. Legendary singer, and songwriter, Johnny Gill, was the recipient of the first annual “Cultural Icon” award from Stevie Wonder on the Radio Free KJLH Stage and received a proclamation for his “outstanding contributions to the world of music” from Councilmember Heather Hutt.

The 18th annual Taste of Soul took over Crenshaw Boulevard this past Saturday, October 21st. Hundreds of thousands of people walked, danced, ate, and mingled their way from Stocker Street to Obama Boulevard. There were many attractions and plenty of food vendors to indulge in, leaving people full, happy, and excited for the day’s festivities.

It’s Time for 18th Annual Taste of Soul Family Festival! 

The 18th Annual Taste of Soul Family Festival is finally here and offering the best of food, entertainment and shopping in the Southland. The free daylong event – presented by Bakewell Media and the L.A. Sentinel – takes place on Saturday, October 21, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Crenshaw Blvd., between Stocker St. and Obama Blvd.  

Children’s World and KJLH Stage Return to 18th Annual Taste of Soul! 

On Saturday, October 21st, the annual Taste of Soul Festival will take over Crenshaw Boulevard yet again with a day full of fun, food, family, music, and much more. The free festival will take place from 10:00am – 7:00pm, from Crenshaw from Obama Boulevard to Stocker Street, with an anticipated attendance in the hundreds of thousands. Attendees will be able to indulge themselves with various food vendors, live music, black owned businesses and products, health testing and resources – just to name a few.  Sponsored by First 5 California and Lucas Museum, Children’s World will make its return to this year’s TOS and will feature a lineup of extremely talented youth and young adults.
