Curry Temple CME Church will hold their Annual Friends and Family Day on Sunday, April 10, at 3 p.m., at 322 W. Rosecrans Avenue in Compton.
According to Pastor Joseph C. Gardner Sr., the theme is “Friendship Evangelism.” The guest preacher is the Rev. Theodore Payne IV, pastor of Bryant Temple AME Church in Los Angeles.
“We encourage the community to join us for an afternoon of worship along with a powerful, Christ-centered message by Rev. Payne,” said Pastor Gardner.

He has served as pastor of Ward Chapel AME in Mexico, MO; Wayman Chapel AME in Billings, MT; and Quinn Community AME in Moreno Valley, CA. In October 2015, he was assigned as pastor of Bryant Temple AME.
The Rev. Payne is a graduate of Wilberforce University and completed post-graduate studies at Payne Theological Seminary and Bethel Theological Seminary. Currently, he is a student at Claremont-Lincoln University.
