Park Hills Community Church, Reformed Church in America, celebrated their 33rd Annual Women’s Day on Sunday, May 28, at 11 a. m., after a three-year hiatus of the annual celebration due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Pastor Dwight A. Radcliff, Jr., the theme was “Women of Wisdom and Kindness – Steppin’ Out in Faith, Believing in Prayer” based on Proverbs 31:26. The program was a wonderful representation of multi-generational and gender diverse participants, with Shandra Dawson Hines serving as Mistress of Ceremonies.

The Rev. Chineta Goodjoin, senior pastor of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Orange County was the guest preacher. A native of Gaffney, South Carolina,  Goodjoin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from South Carolina University and later received a Master of Divinity degree from Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA.

The Women’s Day Chorus was organized and conducted by Mr. Perry V. Hayes, Director of Worship and Music at Park Hills Community Church for the last 17 years. Soloist Kathy Bailey presented an amazing  rendition of the composition, “Alabaster Box,” which beautifully complimented the sermon.

In addition to Mr.  Hayes’ piano accompaniment, the music included Jody Reynolds on keyboard; drummer, Adam Ayers; and guitarist, Ryan Hicks. The worship service was followed by a delicious luncheon served in the beautifully decorated church fellowship hall.
