Spearheaded by the Cooperative Economic Empowerment Movement (CEEM), a collective of Black business owners gathered together to celebrate Black History month and to honor exemplary leaders who strive to create wealth-building opportunities for African American communities.
Despite the severe weather conditions that took place during the weekend of CEEM’s event, over 60 people showed up including San Bernardino Mayor Helen Tran and County Board of Education Trustee Dr. Gwendolyn Dowdy-Rodgers. George Lamb, representing State Assemblymember James Ramos and a representative from Congressman Pete Aguilar’s office also attended.
KJLH Radio Personality Aundrae Russell hosted the evening of Black excellence, which featured live performances by artists Chavonne Stewart, Alethea Mill, and spoken word poet Dr. Alexander Sterling. CEEM also revealed its new rebrand, community partnership, journey in forming a record label, and shared insight on the incredible opportunities lined up for members this year.
