So, someone called you a bunch of bad names! Someone cussed you out! Called you the “b” word or “m-f.” As they say, “He called me everything, but a child of God!!!” Not Okay, but it happens and unfortunately there is a lot of that going around. You’re not what the word is spoken against you. You know your behavior or (whatever) doesn’t testify to you being that. Of course, if you are called a “good name” or a “great name,” say, “Bring it On!” “I love it!”
Remember what the opposition called Jesus The Christ? He was called a “bastard!” We’re better than you they inferred.” You don’t even have a father!” “You are born of fornication.!” (John 8:41ff). They said, we have only one father, God. Fact is, Jesus told them some piercing words.”
“You are doing the works your father did.” They said,to Jesus Christ, “We were not born of sexual immorality.” In this colloquy (going back and forth with words), “As it is you are looking for a way to kill me., a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did.” “If God were your father, you would love me, for I have come here from god. I have not come on my own; God sent me.” Why don’t you understand. It’s because you can’t even hear me!” You belong to your father, the adversary.” Then Jesus does what we might say he was cussing them out, using direct words, “Your father was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him, he is the father of lies. That’s why you don’t hear the truth or understand the truth.” They accused Jesus of being possessed by demons. ”They were more than angry at Him, enraged! They were cruel and wanted revenge for having been spoken to that way.” Jesus clung to his conviction until His travels to the cross and through His resurrection. He glorified His Father, God, through obedience. Who are we glorifying? Who…what are we serving? Who is Our Father? Think of His sufferings, His persecution all during His walk here on earth. Even from birth, he was born into the world’s stigma, hatred. His mother was impregnated by the Holy Spirit. Joseph was a holy man and following the leading of God Almighty. The account in today’s society would not ring well at all and all would call it unbelievable! They hated Him without a cause. Many even “til this day don’t and won’t believe. He even testifies to His adversaries of eternal life by believing on Him and obedience to his ways. He began to speak to them about Abraham, their retort was, “Abraham died. Are you greater than our father Abraham? As Jesus testifies to His knowing Abraham, they were indignant as He claimed to know Father Abraham, saying, He said. “before Abraham was born, “I AM.” Well, that was “it.” Now, he’s claiming to be God! He’s a blasphemer!” But now, He is victorious, enthroned in the heavens seated at His Father’s right hand. I want to go to heaven and be there. How about you? Merry Christmas!!
