On Saturday, September 8, Amazing Grace Conservatory hosted a ribbon cutting and open house ceremony for the South L.A. community. AGC is under the leadership of film, television, and stage actress Wendy Raquel Robinson.

Robinson, who has invested over 25 years in young artists, was overjoyed at the growth and support of the organization. Famous alumni include Ashton Sanders of the hit film, “Moonlight”, Issa Rae of HBO’s “Insecure” and Aldis Hodge of “Underground”, just to name a few.

Amazing Grace Conservatory is a NAACP award-winning program. The community-based non-profit focuses on performing arts training in acting, voice, and dance for youth ages 5-18. AGC is more than performance art center, the conservatory pride themselves as a conduit for empowering young people and affecting change. Through socially relevant performances, the students are inspired to find their voice, express their creative abilities, and flourish as artists/scholars, significantly impacting themselves and their communities.

During the program, Zafar Brooks of Hyundai, a Taste of Soul sponsor, presented AGC with a $2500.00 contribution for their community service to Los Angeles.

Hyundai has a huge heart for charity; the company has awarded more than $145 million in grants through their Hyundai Hope on Wheels program, where their mission is to support communities and save lives by creating hope for children to end childhood cancer.

The car company has big plans for this year’s Taste of Soul with a major car sweepstake, giving away a 2019 Hyundai Kona. According to Brooks, the “Hyundai Sound Stage” will also return to at this year’s Taste of Soul with performances from some of the nation’s most popular R&B acts.
