The Black Business Association (BBA), the oldest ethnic business organization in the State of California, will commemorate Black History Month by presenting its Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday, February 24 at the California African American Museum, 600 State Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90037. Reception begins at 6 PM, Awards Dinner at 7 PM.
Rev. Dr. Cecil L. ‘Chip’ Murray, will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Rev. Murray is a University Fellow, USC Center for Religion and Civic Culture and Pastor Emeritus, F.A.M.E. Church of Los Angeles. He became a nationally known figure in the wake of the 1992 Los Angeles riots, and became actively involved in the issues of job-training, homeowner loans, affordable housing, condom distribution, and HIV/AIDS awareness. Rev. Murray started FAME Renaissance, a non-profit organization that focused on economic development.
Held in recognition of Black History Month, this years’ theme is “African Americans in Times of War.”
