One of my favorite musical groups is Earth, Wind & Fire and I grew up hearing their music all the time on the hi-fi. One particular album is a favorite of mine called “Raise!” and there is a song called “The Changing Times.”

The first lyrics ring very true of today: “As you discover changing times, You must have the strength to endure.” We have been in the midst of changing times, but it is getting more evident, as times goes by, these days are getting darker.

The shootings, bold racism and rampant homelessness are some of the prevailing signs that these times we’re living in are different. People are in a quandary as to why we are seeing such evil and apathy from people, but the Bible has already made it clear.

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Matthew 24:12

We have people walking into schools, churches, organizations, businesses and festivals and shooting anyone that they see — without heart. We see people in positions of power blatantly showing hatred towards the people they are supposed to represent and support.

We see people being kicked out of their homes in the interest of money. We are seeing hearts grow cold right before us as the Bible has said and it will not get better.

But there is something we can do. “But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” Matthew 24:13

The Lord tells us that we have to hang in there through these changing times and we will be saved. The strength to go through this life can only be found in Jesus as he said “we can do all things” through Him.

We also have to share the gospel and the good news with others so they can learn to endure too.

“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’” Mark 16:15
