For the 11th consecutive year, the Homeless Ministry of Trinity Baptist Church conducted a successful Blanket Drive to aid homeless men, women and children living on L.A.’s skid row. According to Pastor Alvin Tunstill, Jr., and homeless activist Brian Ferguson, Trinity congregants and community members donated more than 400 new blankets and pillows during the annual event held on Dec. 15. Dr. Harriette F. Williams, a notable Los Angeles educator and community leader, passed away at her home on July 28. She was 88-years-old. A self-described “happy volunteer,” Harriette was acclaimed for her distinguished 40-year career at LAUSD, her dedicated service in numerous civic organizations, and unwavering faith as illustrated by her six-decade membership at Trinity Baptist Church.
