The VIP ticket donation is $45 and general admission donation is $35. Tickets are available at and at Trinity’s church office. The doors will open at 5:30 pm.

As part of the yearlong celebration, Trinity held a “Legends Luncheon” on March 11 honoring 23 members. The event, coordinated Anniversary Program Chairperson Bennie Beckwith, focused on the theme, “Celebrating 100 Years of Walking by Faith! Cherishing our Past, Celebrating our Present, Constructing our Future.”

The honorees were Pearlie Allison, Phoebe Biggins, Odessa Brown, Jeanette Caffery, Freddye Clay-McDowell, William Collins, Laura Farwell, Rosemary Hampton, Naomi Johnson, Ophelia Lacey, Florence Lane, Hazel Lee, Reva Loeb, Melba Marshall, Merkie Miller, John Phillips, Alyce Presley, Eugene Tate, Ruthie Williams, Sallie Williams and Aleather Young. Janie Brown and Violet Wilson were recognized posthumously.

Contributing to the luncheon’s success were the Trinity Sunlight Seniors, headed by Linton Rutledge, who served as hosts. Also, Fannye Wade was the event chair. In addition, James Bradley and the Audio-Visual Committee created videos of each recipient, Bruce Huff and Company catered the food and J. Boykin provided the entertainment.

Several future events are planned to celebrate Trinity’s 100th anniversary. On Wednesday, April 26, at 7 p.m., the Young Adult Ministry will sponsor a special worship service. The Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, conducted by Charles Dickerson, will present a free concert on Sunday, May 7, at 4 p.m., in the sanctuary.

The 100th anniversary banquet is set for Friday, November 10, at 7 p.m., at the LAX Hyatt Regency Hotel. Ticket reservations are required and available by calling the church office at (323) 735-0044.   The celebration will conclude with a worship service on Sunday, November 12.

“We hope you will join us at any or all of the events as we give God thanks and praise for 100 years. Our plans are to make this anniversary an unforgettable, God-glorifying event,” said Tunstill.
