Dem’s Lawsuit Accuses Trump of Inciting Deadly Capitol Riot

The House Homeland Security chairman accused Donald Trump in a federal lawsuit Tuesday of inciting the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and conspiring with his lawyer and extremist groups to try to prevent Congress from certifying the results of the presidential election he lost to Joe Biden.

‘We Took the Capitol’ Trump Supporters Storm the Chambers of Congress

Gunshots rang out in the hallway near the chambers, and windows were shattered throughout the building. An unidentified woman inside reportedly was shot in the neck. Her condition is currently unclear. The National Guard joined the Secret Service, FBI, Capitol Police, and D.C.’s Metropolitan Police at the scene.

After ‘Butt Dial,’ Harris Urges Expanded Investigation into State Department Involvement in Giuliani’s Activities

U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris (D-CA) on Thursday sent a letter to State Department Inspector General Steve Linick demanding an expanded investigation into any violations of law or policy by State Department officials related to Rudy Giuliani’s work in to Bahrain, Turkey, or any other country. Harris previously called on Linick to investigate whether any Department of State officials enabled Rudy Giuliani’s efforts in Ukraine to advance President Trump’s political interests. The State Department IG has not yet confirmed or denied whether there is an ongoing investigation into Giuliani’s activities.
