LBPD Officer Suspended for Allegedly Making `Biased and Prejudiced Remarks’

A Long Beach Police Department officer has been suspended for allegedly making “biased and prejudiced remarks in electronic communications,” and authorities are reviewing his past use of force incidents and arrest reports, police said today. Officer Maxwell Schroeder, a five-year veteran of the department, was suspended Thursday.

California Goes on Offensive as Omicron Variant Threat Grows 

Three days after Thanksgiving, Gov. LA County’s COVID Hospitalizations Fall Below 600

The number of coronavirus patients in Los Angeles County hospitals fell back below 600, declining from 610 on Saturday to 595, according to the latest state figures. Of those patients, 146 were in intensive care Sunday, unchanged from the day before.
