Crenshaw senior Jeremiah Blackmon plays basketball and football for the Cougars. He helped the football team win a Division III City Section championship in 2022. This season, the Cougars had a 11-3 overall record and led the Coliseum League with a 4-1 record.
Washington Prep senior quarterback Sesame Mixson led the Generals to an appearance in the CIF City Section Division III Championship game. The Generals ended the season with a 5-9 overall record and a 1-4 Coliseum League record.

On September 10, Crenshaw alum Daiyan Henley will have his NFL debut as a linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers.
King/Drew senior Sadiq Henry is a dual sport athlete who was team captain of the Golden Eagles football team during it’s inaugural season. He noted how the skills from football and basketball give him a competitive edge.
Graduating senior Kourey Patterson is continuing his golf career at Alabama A&M University. He helped the Palisades Charter High School boys golf team win CIF City Section Championships in 2021 and 2022.
During the 2022-2023 season, their first season of existence, the King/Drew Golden Eagles football team had a 9-3 overall record and came in second in the Coliseum League with a 4-1 record. Their efforts got the Golden Eagles in the City Section Division II Quarterfinals. One student-athlete even received an athletic scholarship for Georgetown. After only playing one year of high school football, Kyler Dale will be playing on the Hoyas football team next fall. “I’m grateful for everything I have,” Dale said. “That was my main goal when starting football, try to get a scholarship, my mom doesn’t pay.”
Hamilton sophomore Kinidi Curl considers basketball to be a fun sport that has allowed her to meet new people. Not only does she hoop for the Yankees girls’ basketball team, but she competes in travel ball.

The Crenshaw Cougars football team battled through adversity to go on a deep playoff run, leading them to the CIF Division 7-A State Championships.
During his first year playing varsity, Los Angeles high school junior Shawn Pringle took on the onus of being the quarterback for the Romans. In the 10 games they played, Pringle made 60 passes for 1494 yards and 19 touchdowns.
The Crenshaw high school Cougars football team brought intensity in all four quarters and made big plays on both sides of the ball to defeat the Manual Arts Toilers 66-20 in the Division III City Section Playoffs.
The Washington Generals attacked hard on offense, defense, and special teams to secure a 55-0 win over the Jordan Bulldogs. The victory gives Washington Prep a 4-2 overall record and Jordan now has a 5-2 overall record in their first Metro league loss.
