Crenshaw Defeats Locke 38-0

The Crenshaw Cougars football team secured their first Coliseum League victory when they defeated the Locke Saints 38-0. Both teams now have a 2-6 overall record.

Fathers of the Community Celebrate 8th Global Day of Compassion on July 31

Fathers of the Community will celebrate their 8th Global Day of Compassion on Sunday, July 31. Cases of water and $25 gift cards will be distributed to seniors in Baldwin Hills, Pasadena and Watts. A “Movie in the Park” event for the local community will be held at Jim Gilliam Park at dusk.

Crenshaw junior Aammarah Gage is the captain of the Cougars’ track and field team. As she strives to improve her sprinting and hurdling, she learned how to manage the different personalities on the team so they can better themselves.

Krystle Evans Makes an Impact as a College Basketball Coach

Krystle Evans rose from being a high-achieving student athlete to becoming an impactful administrator and coach for college athletic programs. Evans recently led the Academy of  Art University women’s basketball team to the PacWest title game and the Division II NCAA tournament.

Marquis Curtis Remembered for Overcoming Obstacles

The story of Marquis “Bin Laden” Curtis is that of resilience and triumph. His talents at the quarterback position made the Crenshaw Cougars football team a competitive force in the mid 2000s. Curtis led the Cougars to their first Division I City Section title in school history.
