Compton College Receives $400,000 Grant for Guided Pathways

The Compton Community College District (CCCD) was awarded a $400,000 grant from the College Futures Foundation to support Compton College’s implementation of its Tartar Completion by Design (Guided Pathways), Dual Enrollment, block scheduling, and transfer partnerships.

Compton College’s Campus Community Mirrors Population It Serves

Compton College’s population of students, faculty and staff reflects the diversity of the residents that live within the Compton Community College District (CCCD) service area, which encompasses 12 cities includingthe communities of Compton, Lynwood, Paramount and Willowbrook, as well as portions of Athens, Bellflower, Carson, Downey, Dominguez, Lakewood, Long Beach, and South Gate.

‘Voices of Compton’ Literary and Arts Journal Highlights Creative Talents of Compton College Students

Each spring, Compton College students are invited to share their artistic and literary work completed during the academic year in the annual of Voices of Compton, a fine arts and literary journal published by the college. The 11th annual edition features student submissions representing the artistic and literary creativity of the Compton College community. The majority of this year’s submissions focus on art pieces; there are also two literary pieces and two poems written by students.

The 9th Comptons Best- Go Bold or Go Home Talent Showcase, Resource Fair and Community Luncheon on September 21, 2018

This FREE event will provide Compton youth and young adults with an opportunity to showcase their talent, compete for prizes and speak directly with local agents, recruiters and employers. The first prize is $500! The Resource Fair features local businesses and organizations with programs to benefit the youth AND the community. The event is capped off in a wonderful Free Community Luncheon.
