Former Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks stand-out Hunter Greene has been a key contributor to the Cincinnati Reds. During his third season with the club, he has played in 12 games as a starting pitcher and has pitched for 70.2 innings.

Glenn Gray became a Little League coach when his then eight-year-old son’s coach left midseason. By the next season, Gray became coach of his own Little League team and 43 years later, he and his team are still going strong.
Crenshaw high school basketball star Quincy Reese Jr. was killed on Saturday night in South Los Angeles. The 16-year-old is remembered for his passion for basketball as well as his proficient academic efforts.
In their last game of the season, the Crenshaw Cougars baseball team defeated the Hawkins Hawks 8-3. The win gives the Cougars a 4-2 overall record, placing Crenshaw in third place in the Imperial League.
Centennial high school recent graduate Andrew Munns played for the Apaches baseball team during his senior year. Munns played baseball at an early age but spent some time away from competing in the sport. “I’ve been playing since I was eight or nine, then I stopped playing,” Munns said. “Then my coaches … got me to play out here again.” Munn’s father got him into baseball in his youth. Serra senior catcher Nigel Buckley knew that baseball was the sport for him at the age of 12.
On the weekend before the MLB All-Star Game, the Boys and Girls Club of Ramona Gardens partnered with Nike to host a sports camp for the youth in Boyle Heights.
Recent Dorsey graduate Harrison Allen used his raw talent in baseball to pitch for the Dorsey Dons. Last fall, he helped the Dons football team earn a 10-3 overall record and a 5-0 Coliseum League record to qualify them for the Division I playoffs.

King/Drew senior Christopher Petit has been on the Varsity baseball team for four years. His talent and effort helped the Golden Eagles dominate the Coliseum League and reach the semifinals in the Division III City Section Playoffs.
