Free dental screenings, fluoride varnish, blood pressure, glucose, HIV/STD and COVID testing, vaccines, boosters, and flu shots will be offered. Mental health support and Housing Navigation information will be available. Open enrollment health insurance and Covered California enrollers will be onsite.
The collaboration between the historic Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop Sylvester Washington, and the Central Neighborhood Health Foundation (CNHF), led by Dr. Kenneth Orduna, president/CEO, began in February 2022. The goal is to “to bring healing and to help all people,” including churches and communities throughout Los Angeles County.
CNHF provides health care services to underserved communities in Los Angeles and Riverside Counties, with 11 community clinics and a mobile clinic. They provide Primary Care, Pediatrics, Dental, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse services at low or no cost. CNHF also provides weekly free food to residents three times per week.
As faith-based organizations with a service mission, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and CNHF minister to the mind, body, and spirit of all people, especially vulnerable populations. Stop by the Community Health Fair on December 3 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the church grounds.
