Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Cookie Johnson, and the Magic Johnson Foundation will host a drive-through community giveaway event through the Magic Johnson Foundation on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Faithful Central Bible Church.

Senior Pastor Dr. John-Paul C. Foster of Faithful Central will open the campus to over 800 Inglewood and Los Angeles families.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Holiday Hope and the partnership between the Magic Johnson Foundation and Feed the Children, a leading nonprofit committed to ending childhood hunger.

“Cookie and I are truly grateful to our partners for their support as we uplift families in need during the holidays. We love our Los Angeles community and are honored to be of service,” said Earvin “Magic” Johnson, chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises.

“Giving back is our passion and nothing brings us more joy than helping others. It’s mind-blowing to think that we started Holiday Hope 10 years ago and have been able to keep it going with the help of all of our partners. We want to continue making the holidays special for families that need the support the most,” Johnson said.

Participating families will receive a 25-pound box of shelf-stable food, 15-pound box of personal care items, and a 5-pound box of AVON products. Additional items distributed include ham, fresh produce, protein bars, canned food, eyewear, children’s books, toys, coats, clothing, school supplies and more provided by StarKist, Campbell’s, Sprouts Farmers Market, Power Crunch, Bentgo, Starbucks, Dole, PLEZi Nutrition, Blue Planet Eyewear, Alba, Dr. Seuss, Operation Warm, Target and Mattel’s Play It Forward.

Holiday Hope is made possible due to the contributions of corporate partners including EquiTrust, StarKist, the Los Angeles Football Club, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Los Angeles Rams.

Shane Jenkins, president of the Magic Johnson Foundation, has presided over Holiday Hope for several years and is dedicated to ensuring that every family can celebrate the holidays amid financial burdens. “It is our top priority to serve the community, especially during this season. Providing a helping hand to those who need it and witnessing the joy we bring to the community at this event is remarkable year after year.”
