Bishop Ulmer Marks 40-years of Pastoral Ministry

Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer shared powerful and inspiring words with the congregation during his final sermon as senior pastor of Faithful Central Bible Church.  After nearly 41 years as the spiritual leader, the internationally known theologian parted on Sunday, February 19 with the message entitled, “I Did My Best” and using 2 Timothy 4:6-7 as his text.

Bishop Ulmer Steps down, Events Set to Salute His Legacy

Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer will conclude four decades as senior pastor and teacher of Faithful Central Bible Church on Sunday, February 19.  In recognition of his transformative ministry, the congregation will host a series of “Legacy of Champion” events, which will culminate in a tribute concert. The celebration began on Feb. 5 with the installation of the new senior pastor, the Rev. John-Paul C. Foster. The rejoicing continues on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 9 a.m., with Ulmer leading the worship in The Tabernacle, 321 N. Eucalyptus Avenue in Inglewood. Amid the Epidemic of Police Shootings and Racialized Violence Supervisor Ridley-Thomas Hosts Leadership Dialogue

In response to an increase in shootings of unarmed Black men and women, including the recent shooting of Dijon Kizzee in South Los Angeles, and subsequent protests against the racialized violence endured at the hands of law enforcement towards communities of color, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, in collaboration with the Institute for Nonviolence in Los Angeles (INLV), led a leadership level virtual dialogue on Racism, Policing, the Pandemic + Beyond.

MLK and Centinela Hospitals Receive Big Donation of PPE and Masks

Freddie Figgers, an entrepreneur based on Florida, reached out to Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer of Faithful Central Bible Church and the result was Centinela and Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospitals receiving 750,000 masks and 250,000 PPE. Inglewood City Hall was also a recipient of some of the supplies.
