11th annual Special Needs Network Pink Pump Gala Tea and Fashion Show

On Sunday, May 19 over 450 powerful women and a few good men came together for the 11th annual Special Needs Network Pink Pump Gala tea and fashion show. This year’s Women of Distinction honorees, actress Vanessa Bell-Calloway, autism self advocate Spencer Harte and TV Personality Robin McGraw, dazzled the audience with heart-filled acceptance speeches.  Attendees dressed in pink to symbolize the power of women philanthropy and to acknowledge the boldness of their collective efforts of supporting children and families. Johnson Headlines Holman UMC Prayer Breakfast

  Philanthropist and author Cookie Johnson shared excerpts from her memoir, “Believing in Magic,” at the prayer breakfast sponsored by Holman United Methodist Church on April 14. The theme was “Reset: Prayer, Power, Purpose.” The program featured food by G’s Catering, entertainment by Jubilant Voices, Greg Walker, KJLH Radio Free Voices and Lura Daniels-Ball and video presentations by AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Ethiopian Airlines and the Black Cooperative Investment Fund. Also, Holman members Lillian Farrah, Theodore King and Lisa Nicholas participated and Aundrae Russell, KJLH-FM broadcaster, served as emcee.
