St. John’s United Methodist Church observes Men’s Day on June 23, at 1715 Santa Ana Blvd., in Los Angeles, said Pastor Larry Dozier. The preachers are the Rev. Oliver E. Buie, Community Engagement minister at Holman UMC, at 10:30 a.m., the Rev. Dr. Richard Vance, UMC Men’s Ministry national Director for Men’s Ministry, at 4 p.m. Other guests will appear, the St. John’s Man of the Year will be announced and the U.S. Postal Service will unveil First Responder Postage stamp.

First New Christian Fellowship Baptist Church offers free meals for children ages 18 and younger from June 24 to August 9, at 1555 West 108th Street, in Los Angeles, said Pastor Norman S. Johnson, Sr. The FNCF Community Development Corporation sponsors the program. Meals are served weekdays, 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meals are a component of the Summer Food Service Program, sponsored by the California Department of Education’s Nutrition Services Division.
